Al-Anon Family Groups 4.3

Al-Anon Family Groups is a program that provides mutual support for individuals whose lives have been impacted by someone else's drinking. Through the sharing of common experiences and the application of Al-Anon principles, families and friends of alcoholics can bring about positive changes in their own situations, regardless of whether the alcoholic acknowledges their drinking problem or seeks help.

The Al-Anon program is rooted in the Twelve Steps (adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous), which we strive to implement in our lives gradually, one day at a time. We also incorporate our slogans and the Serenity Prayer. The loving exchange of assistance among members, coupled with daily readings of Al-Anon literature, prepares us to receive the invaluable gift of serenity.

Al-Anon Family Groups' official mobile app is designed to offer an easily accessible resource for anyone affected by someone else's drinking, whether they are able to attend in-person meetings or not.

Key features include:

• Al-Anon meetings conducted via Zoom with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance enabled. The app indicates this enhanced security with a green shield within the meeting. The HIPAA compliance provides additional safeguards such as disallowing cloud recordings, enabling encryption for out-of-meeting chats, requiring encryption for third-party endpoints, preventing streaming to services that only support RTMP, and disabling the ability to copy or save meeting chats.
• An opportunity to connect with fellow Al-Anon members and engage in private conversations with them.
• A built-in private journal for tracking personal recovery progress.
• A news feed where you can share your thoughts with your Al-Anon friends and view their posts as well.
• An option to subscribe to a daily dose of experience, strength, and hope shared by Al-Anon members.
